Base Guide: L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup in N8 Cappucino / by Erin Baynham

After many months, I've finally decided to dive in and try L'Oreal True Match. Other than Black Opal Stick Foundations and Revlon ColorStay (which I can never find my shade in), this is the foundation I hear about the most.

L'Oreal Truematch N8 Cappucino Review and SwatchesThis is a foundation that's basically available at all drugstores and convenience stores. It's under $10, and there are enough shades that lots of us can take advantage.

I purchased N8, Cappucino, because it looked like most of the other shades of foundation that I own.  I swatched the foundation next to a couple of my old faithfuls, Urban Decay Naked Skin and Becca Ultimate Coverage. It's got a good mix of warm and cool (hence neutral), so I was optimistic from the start.

One of the differences is how thin the foundation is. It's so liquidy, in fact, that it instantly started to run down my hand when I poured it out. I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

The before and afters are always my biggest driving factor in deciding if I like a foundation. What I hate is the realization that my skin is a splotchy, uneven, dark spot filled mess. Ugh!! I swear, I never know my skin is this bad until I do these types of pictures.

Here's what we have after I apply the foundation all over my face. My skin is very even!

L'Oreal Truematch N8 Cappucino Review and SwatchesHere we are, six hours later. I did get a little more oily with this foundation, but I expected that much. I'm always oily. I used the foundation two or three times in the last few months, and I learned that a little goes a long way with this foundation. I was an oily mess the first two times that I wore it because I used too much. This time, I used a quarter-sized amount and applied it all over.

All in all, not bad at all! It did transfer (a lot), but it gave nice coverage and it's really easy on the pockets. Check out some of my favorite L'Oreal products here:
