Magnolia Makeup: Soul Glo and Gilded Swatches / by Erin Baynham

Magnolia Makeup Soul Glo Illuminating Powder and Gilded Pigment I have a slight confession. Back at The Makeup Show (2008?), I had a MUA from Magnolia tell me that my foundation was all wrong and the color made me look sick. So I pretty much wrote the company off that day. But while watching one of Makeup Game on Point's Christmas tutorials, I had a change of heart.

Soul Glo Illuminating Powder

In said video, she modeled Soul Glo highlighter, and right then, I went on the website and bought it. It's not too beige, not too light, it's lovely on brown skin. Although I don't wear highlighters often, I had to see what all her hype was about.

Magnolia Makeup Gilded Pigment

I also got Gilded pigment. The color looked really different, unlike anything I already owned. Needless to say, it went in my shopping cart.

Here are swatches of the two. While Soul Glo was fine, Gilded seemed to be a little inconsistent. Unfortunately, the color didn't apply evenly. It's not a huge deal breaker though. I just swatched it a few more times and it looked fine. For more information on Magnolia Makeup, click here.
